Dear New Homeowner:

Congratulations on the purchase of your new home! Based on our experience with new homeowners, we know that building a home is both exciting and somewhat overwhelming. At Frey Electric, Inc. our goal is to make the installation of your electrical system and the selection of your fixtures, a pleasant experience. Since deadlines are important in the construction industry, this packet of information will help you become informed in advance of our process.

The following is some information we have found to be important to our customers:

    1. Each home is wired according to the National Electrical Code (NEC), and is in compliance with all local, city and county codes.

    2. Model homes have upgrades that reflect new and exciting trends available to the housing market. This includes various electrical installations and lighting fixtures. Showcasing these upgrades in a model gives you an opportunity to design your selections to your own taste and lifestyle.

    3. Standard devices are ivory toggle switches and duplex receptacles. At an additional cost you may pick white devices. You can also upgrade to the newer contemporary
    rectangular design.

    4. GFCI protected receptacles are required in the bathroom, kitchen, basement garage and exterior of house.

    5. CA TV and telephone wires are stubbed to the outside wall. The CA TV and telephone companies make all final connections when you request service. There is an additional charge for these connections from the CA TV and telephone companies. The standard for telephone wiring is Category 3, loop systems. There are other systems available as an upgrade that accomodate future equipment and/or service changes.  These other systems allow the occupant great future flexibility for the use of the telecommunications wiring.

    6. The addition of 12 or more lighting or receptacle outlets will require an additional circuit, at an additional cost.

    7. Certain small appliances such as room air conditioners, freezers, and ironing centers may require a separate circuit. If you know you are going to have something of this nature, let us and your builder know ahead of time.

    8. Fixtures supplied by you must be on the job site at the time of electrical finish and need to be identified with the appropriate room location and have an underwriters label or listing.

    9. To assemble and install any fixture which has multiple parts and/or crystals will require an additional charge.

    10. Unless notified, foyer fixtures are centered in the foyer window and in the room. Adjustments in location after first installation are an additional charge.

    11. Finishes on outside light fixtures are not guaranteed.

We look forward to working with you.
The Staff of Frey Electric, Inc.
and
Dave Frey
